Flow Builder: Add a webview
What is a webview?
Open Webview opens a screen that was built in the bot code, such as a claim form, a return, or a seat change. You can only add webviews that already exist in the bot. You cannot create the screen itself from Flow Builder.
How to edit a webview
Drag Open Webview from the build panel. The edit panel title is Webview. You can set:
- Content ID.
- Select webview. Choose a webview from the list.
- Edit webview contents. Opens that webview so you can edit the content already defined for it. The button stays unavailable until you select a webview.
- URL Parameters. Click Add param, then set Key and Value. Values can include flow variables. If parameters are unavailable, the hint says: Update the bot's code to a newer version to add URL parameters.
On WhatsApp, the message that opens a webview must be plain text with a single button. A message with several buttons, or with extra elements, cannot open a webview. Use a URL Button for that message.
Best practices
- Confirm the webview exists in the bot code before you add the node.
- Pass only the parameters that screen expects, and use the same key names as the code.
- On WhatsApp, lead into the webview with one button, not a list of buttons.
