Flow Builder: Add a URL button
What is a URL button?
URL Button sends a WhatsApp message with one button that opens a website or a webview. It is the WhatsApp button that can open a URL. The message can contain only that one button.
How to edit URL Button
Drag URL Button from the build panel. You can set:
- Content ID.
- Header. Optional. Choose Text, Image, Document, or Video, then add the header. If header types are unavailable, the hint says: Update the bot's code to support header types.
- Main text. The message body. You can use formatting, lists, emoji, and variables. Up to 1,024 characters.
- Footer. Optional. Up to 60 characters.
- Button text. The label on the button. Up to 20 characters.
- Button URL. The address the button opens.
Best practices
- Use one clear action. This message cannot carry a second button.
- Keep the button label short. WhatsApp allows 20 characters.
- On WhatsApp, use this node, not a text message with several buttons, when the next step is a webview.
