Flow Builder: Navigating the Flow Builder Interface
Overview
The Flow Builder interface is designed to make building conversational apps intuitive and organized.
Each area of the screen serves a specific purpose, from managing flows to configuring messages and actions.
The Main Interface Areas
Top Bar
Use the top bar to manage project-wide actions:
- Enable AI Agents: Integrate AI Agents in your flow.
- Activate Knowledge base: Use the knowledge base to generate responses.
- Select Language: Define or switch the working language.
- Version History: Review or restore earlier versions.
- Preview: Test your flow before publishing.
- Publish: Push your updates live.
- Exit Flow Builder: Return to your bot list.
Conversational Flow List
Located in the top-right corner, this menu lets you switch between or create flows.
Every project includes two default flows:
- Main: The entry point of your conversation.
- Fallback: The flow triggered when the bot cannot answer a user’s question.
Search Box
Quickly locate specific content by typing keywords and/or selecting the type of node you are looking for. Results will highlight and zoom into the relevant content on the board.
Build Panel
Found on the left-hand side, the Build Panel contains all available content types and actions.
Simply drag and drop them onto the Flow Board to build your experience.
Flow Board
This is the central canvas where your conversational logic lives.
You can:
- Add and connect content.
- Zoom in/out.
- View the overall flow.
- Undo or redo changes.
Edit Panel
On the right-hand side, the Edit Panel appears when you select a content node.
Here you can configure the selected item, such as text, buttons, media, conditions, or actions.
Navigation Tips
- Zoom controls: Use the bottom-right menu to zoom or reset the view.
- Keyboard shortcuts:
- Undo → Cmd/Ctrl + Z
- Redo → Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z
- Click + drag: Move around large flows smoothly.
