Flow Builder: Add & Manage Languages
Add & Manage Languages
Overview
Flow Builder allows you to manage your Conversational App in multiple languages — making it easy to localize your bot for different regions and audiences, all within the same project.
Each language version maintains the same structure as your main flow, so you can translate content without breaking logic or connections.
Accessing Language Settings
1. Open your bot in Flow Builder.
2. On the top bar, click the language indicator (for example, “English”).
3. A dropdown will appear showing all available languages in your Conversational App.
From this menu, you can add, remove, switch, or set a default language.
Add a New Language
1. Click Add or remove languages in the Language dropdown.
2. In the modal that appears, select one or more languages you want to add.
3. Choose how to create the new version:
- None: Creates an empty version — same structure, no text.
- Based on another language: Uses the content from an existing version (e.g., English) to translate it automatically to all languages selected.
4. Click Add / remove languages to confirm.
Your new language will now appear in the dropdown and can be selected for editing.
Switch Between Languages
To view or edit a specific language version:
1. Open the Language dropdown on the top bar.
2. Select the language you want to work on.
3. Flow Builder will reload the flow in that language.
You can now translate text messages, update variables, and adapt content while maintaining consistent logic and structure.
Remove a Language
1. Open the Language dropdown.
2. Click the Trash icon next to the language you want to delete.
Note: If you remove the default language, Flow Builder will require you to select a new default language before continuing.
Set or Change the Default Language
The default language is the primary language of your Conversational App — it’s the version shown when a user’s preferred language isn’t available.
It also serves as the foundation for creating new language versions.
To set a default language:
1. Open the Language dropdown.
2. Click the Settings icon on the bottom-right.
3. Select the new default language.
4. Confirm your choice.
Once confirmed:
- The selected language becomes the primary version.
- A “Default” label appears next to it in the dropdown.
You can repeat this process at any time to change the default.
